THE PRUDENTIAL REALTY CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FOR ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE was established in 2011 as a partnership between Mary Layman and Prudential Realty California.  This scholarship, to be awarded annually, recognizes that student who has demonstrated the talent and work ethic that personifies Santa Barbara High School Theatre, and who wishesto pursue a career in the performing arts.  Our first recipient is Geoffrey Hahn, who in addition to performances in 12 productions at SBHS (including Music of the Night and HAIR at the Fringe Festival as a freshman), was  member of the award-winning Madrigals undere the direction of Phillip McLendon, and was one of two finalists for the Southern California Youth Spotlight Award.

Each year we award a scholarship of $500.00 to a student artist.  In the future we hope to add a scholarship of equal amount for a student of technical theatre who wishes to pursue that interest after high school.  If you are interested in sponsoring a scholarship in your name or someone in your family, please contact Otto Layman at ottolayman@gmail.com.
